Vernon Goldschmid received a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from UCLA and subsequently, earned a law degree from UCLA School of Law in 1961.
He is the Senior Partner and co-founder of the law firm of Goldschmid, Silver and Spindel and has specialized in Workers’ Compensation law for over 40 years.
In addition to Mr. Goldschmid’s litigation and partnership responsibilities, he has been a past president of the Southern California Applicants Attorney’s Association, has sat for several years on the Board of Governors of the California Applicants Attorney’s Association and was a consultant to the Industrial Medical Council in preparation of the Physicians’ Guide to Medical Practice in the California Workers’ Compensation System.
Over the years, Mr. Goldschmid has been a featured speaker on worker’s compensation issues for several forums including law school classes and legal conventions specializing in industrial injuries.

Lawrence Silver received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Philosophy from UCLA and earned his law degree from the University of San Francisco in 1973. In 1976, Mr. Silver and Mr. Goldschmid founded the law firm of Goldschmid, Silver and Spindel, a firm specializing in plaintiff Worker’s Compensation Law.
Mr. Silver has been certified as a specialist in Workers’ Compensation law by the State Bar of California and was honored as being 1 of 41 attorneys who have been specialized in Workers’ Compensation Law for more than 30 years.
In addition to his litigation and partnership responsibilities, he has served on the legislative committee for the California Applicants Attorney’s Association, and, for the past 6 years, has been declared a “Super Lawyer” by Los Angeles Magazine.
Recently, Mr. Silver has argued several cases in front of the California Court of Appeals challenging Governor Schwarzenegger’s 2004 reform laws.

James Malkin received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University at San Francisco. He then went on to earn his law degree from the San Fernando Valley College of Law and was admitted to practice in 1977.
In 1983, bringing his strong civil litigation background with him, he joined the firm of Goldschmid, Silver and Spindel and, subsequently, became a senior litigator and partner of the firm in 1988.
Mr. Malkin has been a past president of the Southern California Applicants Association. Currently, he sits on the Board of Governors and the Regulations Committee of the California Applicants Attorney’s Association.

Suzanne Agatstein received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UCLA in 1981. She earned her law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, CA, and was admitted to practice in the state of California in December 1985.
Ms. Agatstein started practicing Workers’ Compensation law in September 1986. After several years of focusing on the defense side, she decided to switch to Plaintiff’s Workers’ Compensation. In 1994, she joined the law firm of Goldschmid, Silver and Spindel, and then went on to become a partner of the firm in 2000. Along with her caseload and firm responsibilities, she is a current and active member of the California Applicant’s Attorney’s Association.
